If you are headed to the North American International Auto Show in Detroit later this month, be sure to bring your kids along. If they stop by the Ford stand, they could get a free Ford GT snap kit.
This Revell-built model includes 14 pieces and will snap together in just a few minutes. It will also feature a unique auto show stamp on the bottom to mark this special edition model.
“Our annual Revell Make ‘n Take model kit program has become a fun-filled auto show tradition,” said Mark Bentley, Ford Licensing manager, in a statement. “Letting kids build their own Ford GT is a great way to introduce them to the Ford brand and create new enthusiasts.”
Now, in case you don’t have any kids, or just would like a model of your own, a retail version will be available in April, and it will be more detailed. The retail version of the Ford GT model will include 28 pieces and will take about 10 to 15 minutes to build. It will cost $14.99.
At previous shows Ford has offered models of the 2015 Ford Mustang and an F-150 Raptor.
The Liquid Silver 2017 Ford GT is every bit as good as it looks! The new hue debuted at the Chicago Auto Show recently and garnered even more attention after taking the North American International Auto Show by storm only a few weeks earlier.

The meltified supercar donned racing stripes and was officially confirmed for production in Markham, Ontario. Taking one look at this race-ready beauty and you’ll fall in love just as we at Friendly Ford did.
The 2017 Ford GT will host a 3.5-liter twin turbo V6 boasting more than 600 horsepower that will catch every ear and eye imaginable. Aluminum subframes and a carbon fiber monocoque outfit the GT, along with a seven-speed, dual-clutch gearbox.
Rumors are the Ford GT’s first task will be hitting up Le Mans, and it might possibly be the favorite to win it all. We’re interested to see what color the supercar will don when it does enter its first race. The Liquid Silver edition sure has our vote!

Have you seen all of the great new Ford vehicles and concepts that debuted at NAIAS over the past week and a half? The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), also known as The Detroit Auto Show, ends this Sunday the 26th and the team here at Friendly Ford wants to show you some of our favorite cars from the show.
NAIAS is celebrating its 25th Anniversary of being an International Show, although the show itself traces its roots all the way back to 1907. Originally the Detroit Auto Show was regional. In 1989, a group of Detroit auto dealers got together to make the show more globally recognized. Since 1989, 1,359 vehicles have been introduced at NAIAS and more than 18 million people have visited the show.
Ford is showcasing everything from the 2015 Mustang to the all-new Raptor. Let’s take a look at Ford at NAIAS.
