Have you always lived in the Roselle area?

Please tell me a little bit of background information – some of your previous jobs, how you got into your current position at Friendly Ford which is Body Shop Estimator?

I was an electrician before I got into this industry. Always having a passion for cars, I am beyond lucky to have been granted an opportunity to get into this industry and I love it!

Have you always lived in the Roselle area?

I am actually not from this area. I grew up in River Grove Illinois and moved out to St. Charles, where I currently still am.

What are your current job responsibilities as Estimator? What is a typical day like for you?

I oversee the whole process of a customer’s vehicle. Starting when you call/come in after an accident. I go over your vehicle and put together an estimate of what it will cost to repair. I deal with insurance companies on a daily basis.  I make sure that when your vehicle is done that you not only leave happy, but that you leave with safe/quality repair.

What are your goals and what do you hope to accomplish at Friendly Ford as you move forward?

I hope to build the Body Shop big enough and strong enough to be able to expand to a second location.

What do you like most about your job and what makes you passionate about your line of work?

I love the challenge of estimating a variety of vehicles, because each and every vehicle is so different. We work on all makes and models and it is exciting because I never know what’s going to come in! What makes me so passionate is the end result and our customers leaving satisfied.

Oh with out a doubt… Ford Raptor!

Meet Matt Yockey, Our Friendly Ford General Manager

Friendly Ford is thrilled that Matt Yockey has been promoted to the role of General Manager here at the dealership. Matt has been with the company for quite a while and all his hard work has definitely paid off. We sat down with Matt to learn a little bit about his background, interests, and goals for the dealership.

Are you from the Roselle, IL area?

I live in St. Charles, IL, which is about 25 minutes away. I was born and raised there.

How did you come to work at Friendly Ford?

Friendly Ford

Friendly Ford GM – Matt Yockey

In High School I got into a program where I could work for half of the day, and so, I went to Friendly Ford and I asked for a job. They started me off washing cars and sweeping floors. Soon after that I worked my way up to becoming a Lube Tech/ Mechanic. I liked it so much I decided to attend UTI (Universal Technical Institute) and graduate Ford FACT, which is basically becoming an authorized Ford Motor Company Technician. From there I became a Master Diesel Mechanic, Service Manager, and then finally became the GM of this great dealership and team.

What are your future goals for Friendly Ford?

I would really like to see Friendly Ford grow into a larger business. Right now, we are a “small fish in a big sea”, and I want to become the standard for building great relationships with customers and customer service itself in Roselle. We really care about our customers, and I want to show each one that we appreciate them stopping by to see us.

What are you most passionate about when it comes to your job?

I love the variety this job offers. Each day is different from the customers I help and employees I work with to the cars that come to our lot and service team. I cannot guess what my day will be like. There is never a dull moment, and I am excited for what the day will bring.

If you could have your dream car, what would it be?

That is a tough question! I have more than one. Can I just have them all? Half of me wants to go towards the supercar, the Ford GT. Everyone likes that. I also have a little part of me that wants an old Ford Mustang retrofitted to the new body style and engine, but the hillbilly part of me wants a monster, jacked diesel engine truck. In the end, I guess I don’t just have one. I have like six.

Outside of work, what do you do for fun?

Matt Yockey - Friendly Ford

Matt with his wife and daughter.

I love to boat and go boating, and wake surfing is a lot of fun. Other than that, snowmobiles and ATVs take up most of my time. I have a little girl now, so I end up hanging out with her and my wife a lot as well, which is amazing.

If they made a movie about your life, what famous actor would you like to play you?

The Rock! I love The Rock. He makes everything better and he’s a Ford guy!

Now that you’ve learned a little bit about Matt Yockey, stop by Friendly Ford today and say hello! Whether you’re looking to buy a vehicle or get it serviced, Matt will make sure you’re in good hands.

Could a New Ford Bronco Hit Dealerships by 2020?

The rumors are true: the Ford Bronco will make its triumphant return, sometime very soon. In fact, we have reason to believe that a brand new edition of the Ford Bronco could be on the road as early as 2020.

Talk of the upcoming Ford Ranger pickup has been accompanied by details of the new Ford Bronco, with both vehicles likely fitting into two release slots previously confirmed by Ford: 2018 and 2020.

New FordThe last edition of the Ford Bronco ended production in 1996, so this return has been a long time in the making. This previous model was based on the Ford F-150, but we think it’s likely that both the new Ford Ranger and new Ford Bronco will be built on the same base.

No official specs or details have been revealed about the new Ford Bronco yet, and it’s hard to speculate exactly what its price would be. We think it’s safe to say that – at the rate Ford models escalate each year – a 2020 Ford Bronco would be incredible.

Would you be interested in an all-new Ford Bronco? Come visit us anytime at Friendly Ford to learn more or to check out our currently available models!

How Many Rushing Yards Will Jeremy Langford Have? Guess and Win Prizes!

Are you a football fan—more specifically, a Chicago Bears fan? If you are (and you should be), you already know who Jeremy Langford is. The 24-year old was drafted last season and racked up a good amount of rushing yards. With the 2016 season still young, we here at Friendly Ford have decided to give back to the community through a little game on Facebook.

Jeremy Langford

Guess the Rushing Yards – Jeremy Langford

Each week, those who like our page will have the opportunity to guess how many rushing yards Langford will get in that week’s game. The person who guesses the closest number to the exact number of rushing yards that Langford earns that game can win a free oil change.

The rules are fairly simple. First, your guess can’t go over. Second, all guesses have to be in before the game starts. Finally, the tiebreaker will go to the person who stated their guess first.

Although Langford is currently out due to a severely sprained ankle, we here at Friendly Ford are ready to continue giving out freebies to those who guess right once he returns to the field!

Keep an eye on our Facebook page for other giveaways, discounts, and contests! You could win something big. Last summer, for example, the grand prize of our Endless Summer Giveaway was a choice between a Hawaiian vacation for two or a trip to Orlando for a family of four.

2017 Ford F-150 Preview: Continuing A Legacy

Ford F-150 Pickup Truck

Current Ford F-150 Pickup Truck

The Ford F-150 has been the best-selling vehicle in America for decades. With the 13th generation that made its debut in 2015, Ford created the smartest, lightest, and most fuel-efficient F-150 ever. With the 2017 F-150, it is getting even better. Here’s a 2017 F-150 preview to give you a glimpse of what’s coming.

One of the biggest additions is an all-new, second-generation 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. It will produce 375 horsepower and deliver a segment-best 470 lb-ft of torque, which is an increase of 10 horsepower and 50 lb-ft over the previous 3.5-liter EcoBoost.

This engine will be mated to a new ten-speed automatic transmission for better acceleration and overall performance. This will be the first volume-produced ten-speed automatic transmission available from any automaker.

“The 2017 Ford F-150 now delivers the best torque in the segment,” says Raj Nair, Ford executive vice president, Product Development, and chief technical officer. “This class-leading torque arrives with a transformative 10-speed automatic that improves nearly every aspect of F-150 performance.”

With the new transmission gearing, the F-150 will have better low-end performance, making it ideal of hauling heavy trailers and payloads.

The 2017 Ford F-150 will be coming to Friendly Ford this fall. We can’t wait to take this new powertrain combination out for a test drive.

The new Ford Fusion features four available engines, ranging from a 1.5-liter four cylinder to a 2.7-liter V6. With power ratings from 175-325 hp and 175-350 lb-ft of torque, this midsize sedan packs a punch no matter what engine drivers choose.

Lego Ford GT Presented at Le Mans

A recent project presented at the famed Le Mans endurance race has brought together Lego enthusiasts and Ford enthusiasts like never before. That’s right. It’s a replica of the brand-new Ford GT made entirely of Lego bricks!

If the idea of eyeballing such a build seems impossible to you, you are right. A computer model was used. However, the genius behind this build, an official Lego builder named Pascal, did build the wheels without computer assistance.

The Lego Ford GT is made up of between 30,000 and 40,000 pieces. Pascal placed every single Lego by hand. The model weighs somewhere between 75 and 100 pounds. It was quickly decided that a full-size model was out of the question so everyone decided that a 1:3 replica was best.

While Pascal admits that the real Ford GT is exciting, he’s also quite proud of his creation. The hardest part of the build for Lego-building genius? The logos on the car.

The Ford Fiesta ST200 Makes the Regular ST Even Better

The Ford Fiesta ST200 is the most powerful Fiesta ever built. The number in its name, 200, refers to the fact that it has “10% more power and 20% more torque than the regular ST,” according to Top Gear.

The ST200 will take you from 0 to 60 mph in 6.7 seconds. That is 0.2 seconds better time than the regular ST. Part of what makes this one a bit faster is the addition of an extra intake pipe, giving the engine more air to burn.

2016 Ford Fiesta ST

2016 Ford Fiesta ST

The Ford ST200 gets more than just a boost of power and speed. This hot model features machined black wheels highlighted by bright red calipers. Plus, it’s got illuminated scuff plates. Inside, the ST200 features two-tone silver/black seat belts, which you will certainly need when you floor it!

The regular Ford Fiesta ST actually features the chassis modifications from the ST200. So, as Top Gear says, “anyone who buys the ST should certainly be grateful the ST200 exists.”
