Meet Eric Veverka, Service Advisor and February spotlight employee at Friendly Ford

1. Please tell me a little bit of background information – some of your previous jobs, how you got into your Service Advisor position at Friendly Ford?

I was a technician at a different Ford dealership for a few years before becoming an advisor. I heard about Friendly Ford & the Yockey family through a family friend and decided to apply!

 

2. Have you always lived in the Roselle area?

I actually don’t live in Roselle. I grew up in Buffalo Grove & currently live in Montgomery.

3. What are your current job responsibilities as Service Advisor? What is a typical day like for you?

My day to day responsibilities include greeting customers, writing vehicles up for service & updating them throughout the day. Also getting vehicles ready to be re-delivered.

4. What are your goals and what do you hope to accomplish at Friendly Ford as you move forward?

My main goal is to excel in my position 7 one day to become a Service Director.

5. What do you like most about your job and what makes you passionate about your line of work?

I enjoy the relationships I get to build with my customers. I have been around the auto industry all my life, through family & holds my passion

6. What would you consider to be your dream car?

I have many dream cars, but I would have to say out of all, I’d like to own a 2002 Nissan GTR R34 V-Spec II NCIR in Millenium Jade

7. What are some of your hobbies outside of work?

I coach kids club wrestling outside of work

8. What are some fun or interesting facts about yourself?

I have never been out of the country. I was born left handed, but naturally switched to right handed.

9. If someone made a movie about your life, who would you want to play you and why?

Will Ferrell! We can be mature and serious when the time calls, but both have a goofy personality.

How to Tell if You’re Due for Car Service

  • Dashboard Lights – The dashboard warning lights aren’t just for show. Those lights indicate that there’s a problem in some part of the car and it should be dealt with sooner rather than later. There are some lights that mean you should pull off the road and turn off the car to avoid damaging the mechanical parts. Other lights simply mean minor things, like low tire pressure. Consult your owner’s manual for more information on warning lights.
  • Feel – If your car’s ride feels bumpy or rough, consider having it checked by a professional technician. Before you head to the dealership, check your tire pressure to see if that’s the problem. If your tire pressure is low, inflate your tires. Stop in at the dealership if the ride is still rougher than normal.
  • Sound – Any odd noise coming from under the hood isn’t good. There’s little need to tell most drivers that if they hear something unusual, like a bang or clang, under the hood, stop the car and contact the service department immediately.

Dwayne Johnson and Ford Team Up to Promote Ford Service

In its newest marketing campaign, Ford has enlisted celebrity Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson to lead a series of commercials that will tout Ford Motor Company’s factory service professionals. In his role, the Fast and Furious star will lead a team of “Specialists” who are prepared to tackle any issue that may come up with your Ford vehicle.

Ford hasn’t released many details, but we do know that the Specialists are an elite crew of Ford technicians, trained and equipped to handle anything. We suspect the spots will offer a healthy amount of humor to highlight Ford’s superior service departments.

According to a recent news release, the Dwayne Johnson and Ford partnership stems from Johnson’s genuine love for the brand, having owned several Ford vehicles over the years.

The 2015 Ford F-150 offers drivers a lighter, more refined body because it uses aluminum instead of the standard metals used before. The use of aluminum has saved the F-150 700 pounds and has thus increased efficiency and increased dent resistance.

Although the efficiencies and dent resistance will add value to the truck, consumers and dealerships are worried about the costs associated with fixing a largely aluminum truck. Ford says not to worry! They recently announced that they will be paying 20% of what shops will spend on training and gear to fix the 2015 F-150.
