Do you have a teenage son or daughter nearing the age of 16? Yahoo Autos recently released a list of the top vehicles for the teen driver(s) in your family. The top vehicle on the list was the 2009 Ford Focus. Yahoo Autos says that the Ford Focus is great when it comes to safety, reliability and ease of use, which are all things that parents look for in a first car for their teen. Let’s take a deeper look at these three categories.
Safety – The Ford Focus comes standard with an airbag system, engine immobilizer, 3-point safety belts for all seating positions, front seatbelt pretensioners, emergency interior trunk release, a tire pressure monitoring system, and ventilated front disc/rear drum brakes.
Reliability – By shopping in the 2009 year and younger, you are setting your teen up with a car that will get them through college. Yahoo estimates that a car from 2009 will have roughly 66,000 miles on it. This will help you get a good deal while still young enough to remain reliable for years to come.
Ease of Use – The interior of the Focus is packed with techy-features that are easy for teens to use while still being hip and up-to-date. By having easy-to-use features, your teen will spend more time with their eyes on the road than messing with interior technologies.
