The Ford Motor Company brought along the new second-generation Ford Edge—in the form of the Ford Edge Concept — to the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, which runs from now till December 1. The new Edge comes with much more technology than its predecessor, especially in the form of autonomous driving. The Edge Concept can park itself and avoid obstacles in its path thanks to systems currently under development by Ford Engineers.
“The original Ford Edge offered customers in North America a fresh, compelling choice for an accommodating, efficient and safe medium utility vehicle,” Joe Hinrichs, executive vice president and president of The Americas for Ford, said. “The next-generation Edge—previewed in the Ford Edge Concept—will build on these cornerstones to create a global vehicle with technology to make life easier, and design and craftsmanship to appeal to customers around the globe.”
The Edge Concept comes with more than just new technology, though. Ford has redesigned the exterior to be sleeker and more aerodynamic, while it also ups the ante in fuel efficiency and capability too.
With such a strong showing just for the concept vehicle, Ford is in line to remain the best-selling utility brand for the third consecutive year. Come see us at Friendly Ford and we’ll show you why Ford has such an Edge over the competition today.
