The all-new 2015 Mustang EcoBoost is here and ready to take you by surprise. It’s not the thundering, heart-pounding V8 most people expect from America’s favorite sports car, but it delivers everything you’ll really ever need. Take a look at the following 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost review.
The Mustang EcoBoost is powered by a 2.3 liter turbocharged 4 cylinder engine that produces 310 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque, delivering the kind of power you’ll still find exhilarating. If its looks are what you’re focused on, then prepare to fall in love again and again. The EcoBoost is outfitted with dual exhausts, 18-inch wheels, HID headlamps, rear spoiler, leather-wrapped steering wheel and handsome lines that really draw the eye in.
The best feature of the Mustang EcoBoost might just be its handling. It’s quick, sharp maneuverability will have you hugging every curve the back roads have to offer. The EcoBoost is 200 pounds lighter than the 5.0-liter version allowing for an even smoother drive.
Fast, fun, and fearless, the 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost looks and drives like a dream! To check out the new Mustang lineup, visit us at Friendly Ford.
That’s the question many are asking, including us at Friendly Ford, upon news that the automaker trademarked the term “ECOBEAST.” If that sounds like a reference to Ford’s EcoBoost engine technology, you’re on the right track. The patent request was filed under “Automobiles and automobile engines.”
What do you think Ford’s ECOBEAST patent could mean? Many believe it’s a high-output EcoBoost engine, even surpassing the highest-capacity 3.5-liter version currently offered. But why would a bigger engine require an entirely new name? Perhaps this will be an entire new line of engines.
Hopefully it’s not a red herring set loose by Ford to distract us all before the Detroit Auto Show, which might have something to do with the next-generation SVT Raptor on the way.
We’d like some answers, but trademark filing doesn’t indicate a projected timeline, so Ford could either be in its final stages before debut or initial development. Still, it sounds like our favorite automaker has some exciting ideas in mind.
The 2014 Ford Fiesta will arrive on the scene with a wide variety of options. On one end of the spectrum, the Fiesta ST will give a powerful and sporty performance. And far on the other end is the 2014 Ford Fiesta with a one-liter EcoBoost engine. And for the first time ever, it will have three cylinders.
Now, don’t let this little one-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost scare you. It still packs a powerful punch, a punch equal to that of 123 horses. But the real magic of this engine is its fuel economy. Right now projections put it somewhere in the forties—maybe even fifty miles per gallon! Joe Bakaj, Ford vice president of Powertrain Engineering, promised, “Customers are going to be pleasantly surprised at what the smallest member of the EcoBoost engine family can do!”
And for those of you who are worried about the shake and shudder that an uneven number of cylinders may produce: forget about it! Ford has taken care of that problem with added weights to the front pulley and rear flywheel, which will counteract all the shaking. Believe it or not, the three-cylinder engine may just provide the smoothest ride in town.
The 2014 Focus will also come with an enhanced version of the MyFord Touch system, featuring a new 6.5-inch color touch screen, updated software, enhanced voice recognition, and more simplified commands. Friendly Ford is really excited to see this one pull into the lots sometime next year!
