Bears Season is Near!

The Chicago Bears training camp starts this weekend. Even though it’s just practice, it’s still nice to see the 2013 Monsters of the Midway take the field. Just like the past few years, there is a lot to be optimistic about going into the new NFL season.

Of course the big story in the offseason was the Bears decision to let go of not only the face of the franchise, Brian Urlacher, but also head coach Lovie Smith. It’s officially a new era new in Chicago. The Marc Trestman era now begins. The former CFL head coach and NFL assistant has coached several elite quarterbacks and juggernaut offenses throughout his career. He’s looking to turn around a Bears offense that struggled down the stretch last season, resulting in a playoff absence for a team that started the season at a promising 7-1.

The offense should be improved this year with a new offensive minded head coach, a new offensive coordinator and some new pieces to offensive line, which has been the Bears’ achilles heal in recent years. If the Bears can stay healthy, there’s no reason to believe that Jay Cutler, Brandon Marshall, Matt Forte and the rest of the offense won’t excel in this new system.

As for the defense, it’s impossible to replace Brian Urlacher’s football talent and leadership skills. But there are enough veterans and pro bowlers on this defensive, it’s likely that guys like Lance Briggs, Julius Peppers, and Charles Tillman will step up and fill that void.

Of course on special teams there is still the electrifying and record-setting return man, Devin Hester, who is always capable of completely changing a game. Hester’s role is now strictly special teams, which is how things were back when we he was getting 5 and 6 return touchdowns a season.

Friendly Ford is feeling good about the Bears chances this year as long as the guys stay healthy. Let’s get it boys! Bear Down!

Ford Tops BrandIndex’s 2013 Buzz Rankings

According to BrandIndex’s 2013 Mid Year US Buzz Rankings, the Ford Motor Company is receiving the most positive “buzz” out of any brand in the country, not just in the auto industry.

You Gov BrandIndex polls consumers to determine buzz rankings of all different categories such as industries, markets, and counties around the globe. For the United States side, it couldn’t have been any better for Ford. There were 600,000 people polled to give their perception of over 1,100 companies in the US. Some of the questions asked in the polls might be “Have you heard anything good or bad about Ford in the past 2 weeks?” and questions to help determine how strong of a buzz the company has.

Ford was ranked number 6 in the same Buzz Rankings for 2012 but has jumped all the way up to number 1 in 2013. This could be partially attributed to the recent sales success Ford has seen with two of its more popular models, the Ford Fusion and the Ford Focus. People have nothing but great things to say about these stylish, practical, and incredibly fuel-efficient vehicles.

Friendly Ford is pleased to see that Ford is generating more positive buzz than any other company in America. Both the Ford Fusion and Ford Focus are available at Friendly Ford, located in Roselle, IL.
