The Ford Focus Defends its Title of Best-Selling Nameplate in the World

Ford is proud to announce that the Ford Focus has defended its title Floyd Mayweather style by keeping the distinction of the Best-Selling Nameplate Worldwide. It once again owned the first half of 2013 in terms of sales. The information is based on the release of latest Polk global vehicle registration data.

Sales of the Focus were actually up 20% from a year ago during the half of 2013 with 589,709 vehicle registrations.  Demands for the Focus have been increasing especially in China and sales have been up 137% in comparison to 2012.

“The new Focus looks high-tech and meets my aesthetic expectations,” said Xiao Bing, a new Ford customer from Beijing. “It has significantly changed from the previous model. The car’s handling is great. When I test-drove it, the new Focus cornered smoothly. Overall, it’s the best combination of looks, performance, value, and fuel economy.”

The Focus may be the reigning champion but the Fiesta is wearing the championship belt as the “Best-Selling Subcompact Car Globally” with 356,434 units sold in the first half of 2013.
